 The World Russian Forum is held annually in Washington, D.C. since 1981. The major objective of the Forum is discussion of perspectives of the American-Russian relations as well as presentation of specific collaborative projects in business, political, scientific, cultural and educational spheres.
This annual event attracts variety of people who are interested in the development of political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural links between the two countries. In 2007, the international conference was of particular importance, since this year marked the 200th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
Traditionally, Forum sessions take place at the USA Congress with support of the Russian Embassy in Washington. Among the participants there are representatives of American and Russian executive and legislative powers, leading businessmen, economists, political scientists, important figures of science and culture.
Major American and Russian corporations such as Boeing, Citibank, Lukoil, ExxonMobil, RAO EES, Stroitransgaz, and so on, take part in the Forum’s events. Our permanent media partners are the magazine “Profile” and RBC-agency.
Participants’ opinions, expressed in the course of the Forum, are broadly reported in American and Russian media and have strong influence upon the development of American-Russian relations and upon the forming of American politics regarding Russia.
